21st Annual International Conference on Medievalism:
Medievalism and the Marvelous
The Ohio State University
12-14 October 2006

About the Conference: The 21st Annual International Conference on Medievalism will explore the idea of medievalism, or the later reception and interpretation of the Middle Ages, as it is specifically expressed in ideas of the marvelous or the supernatural. Tom Shippey (Walter J. Ong Chair of Humanities, St. Louis University) and Laurie Finke (Kenyon College) are the two plenary speakers. See the Conference Program for more details.

The conference is sponsored by The Ohio State University Department of English, the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and the College of Humanities. The program has been coordinated by Clare Simmons, with support from Richard Firth Green, CMRS Director. Scholars and students from any field who are interested in any aspect of medievalism or the conference theme are welcome to register for the conference and take part in the discussions and debates that will continue throughout the weekend.

Costs and Registration: The comprehensive fee for the conference is $95 (95 USD) for regular faculty and $50 for others (students, emeriti, independent scholars, etc.). International scholars are welcome to pay the fee in cash on arrival. This fee includes 2 lunches. The Friday evening banquet, at the University Plaza Hotel, costs $35; conference participants and their guests are welcome to attend the banquet.
